This is a suggestion for Sudo Sergeant. I have an old Dell laptop that I upgraded for free from Windows Vista all the way to Windows 10. By the time I got to Windows 10, it was so slow, it became useless. iPhones were the preferred Word Processor.

I installed Lubuntu and it has become my main Arduino coding station and internet box. With just 2 Gig of memory it is very fast. Lubuntu is just a light weight version of Ubuntu.

The suggestion is to make a video on how you can breathe new life into decades old technology by installing a light weight version of Linux out there. I just googled "breath new life into old PCs" and Lubuntu showed up. There may be others if better.

there are heaps of beginner guides around, but it would be great to help the beginners to break the ice and understand whats under the hood - one topic at a time.

archlinux is an awesome step and i'll be watching with vigor

here are some topics that would be helpful for felix to cover;

explain the different init systems like sysvinit and systemd
how they work, how to use them, new vs old and benefits
explain the different package managers, eg yum vs apt
how yum overlays rpm and apt overlays dpkg, how they help, why yum install doesnt install the latest software (eg arduino ide) - whos fault it is out of date
can you trust the apps on a respository? how to update an application beyond the repositories version and the impacts on the package manager by doing this
MBR vs EFI and how GPT fits into the picture. differences and which to use, problems with bootloaders etc
window managers. differences between gnome, mate, xfce, cinnamon, unity. why some forked away from gnome when they got a bit crazy with their layout and direction.
what is xorg and GTK and how some gtk apps can run on mate and gnome but others can not.
how to get in control of your network in linux at the console.
set your IP, use dhcp, setup your DNS, view your wifi adapter, drivers, connect your wifi,
cover commands like; dhclient, ifconfig, iwconfig, wavemon, iwlist, dig, host, etc

How to setup RDP on CHIP $9 computer which uses Debian?

I has tried to use the available info on the Goggle search and still can't configure my CHIP computer to RDP. I can't even setup TeamViewer. HELP!

which Linux distro is easiest to work with for what projects (Examples, making an arcade machine, media box, server)

and any resources you would recommend for someone starting to learn linux
