I found some pics online of something called Nintendo M82, but the unit i remember they had at our local supermarket had one button per game (granted, i was probably about 6 years old and

RE: Replica of a Nintendo NES store demonstration unit.

This idea seems very feasible. I believe the way to go about making one with an original NES would be to wire some cartridge slots in parallel and connect through a switch that also temporarily activates the reset button when pressed. I bet a 12 position rotary knob may work for the switch. Or some kind of micro controller, I guess.

RE: Replica of a Nintendo NES store demonstration unit.

Yes, it would be kind of like an NES jukebox. The user would select which of those games he would like to play through a button press on the side of each game? Anything like that.

There should also be a means to change which 12 games you would have on your machine.

IMO would be cooler if he could use a real NES instead of emulating one.

But yeah, seems very straightforward. Which could mean more time for building a nice case! With lights in front of each cart label, maybe..? Eh? That would be nice, wouldn't it?

EDIT: I think this is the unit you're talking about, the Nintendo M82.

www.youtube.com/watch

Or maybe this one, the M8:

Or was it a Sega kiosk?
