I just watched the animatronic puppet head show , from several years back , do you know if there was a schematic released for the controller ? I have been going crazy trying to figure this out , I designed my puppet head to run from a servo setup, from the beginning

I remember seeing that animatronic head show too — the motion control was really impressive. As far as I know, the full schematic for the controller was never officially released, just some partial info shared in older threads. If you’re running a servo-based setup, you might be able to replicate it using an Arduino or similar microcontroller — the servo logic should be pretty straightforward once you map out the motion channels.

The clock above is basically 27 LEDs being animated.

A great looking clock that is relatively easy to build (out of wood at least) at a reasonable price point. The Tix LED Clock seems to no longer be available. There is a site (AP Digital light: Wood block LED clock) that shows how to make it but they use "left over" parts that they had on hand. An Element14 friendly version would be greatly appreciated.

This is amazing! Looks like you published everything. Now I just have to figure out how to make these. (my first time doing anything with microcontrollers or code. I have soldering experience, but only basic understanding of what-is-what) Could I hit you up if I run against a wall?

That is a bummer. Would've loved to have a go at this. been looking at alternate DIY versions, most of them use weird IC's that aren't easily available in India. Although, Ive come accross a couple of Arduino Nano and ESP32 based ones but those too have been half-baked and have missing knowledge-bases.
Would've been a fun first project to dive into microcontrollers and programming. ah, well

Well I made one and used it for a while, now packed in a box somewhere.

However, it appears that I published the design at https://github.com/bobc/LED_Clock_AM which is probably the most recent version.

Maybe sometime I will get round to updating it.

Hey guys, been lurking on the site for ages now, I watched the Ben Heck show around 2 years ago and decided to take the site a look see and boom I was hooked. Anyhow, I have quit smoking and have taken up vaping as its a less deadly habit. I have an idea to turn my Kangertech Subox mini into a NES controller mod which would look cool. I want the start and select to be taken off and i would use a rotary tool to grind down the plastic so the screen can go there showing me the wattage. I only have one problem, and that is making the A and/or B button fire it and the directional buttons (up and down) change the wattage. I have an idea of finding the tracks to the buttons and wiring the nes controller buttons to it but I would need to buy some buttons that work as the NES ones wouldnt (tact switches most likely would work). Only problem is it looks like it already has super tiny tact buttons soldered on. If i do de-solder the tact buttons, solder a wire to the connects and then solder the other end of the wire to the new buttons would their be any other problem?

challenge build ultimate secret gaming chair

i have a challenge for you ben im a huge fan love all of your shows etc

i want to build a gaming chair that looks normal and blends into the living room but has all the equipment needed to make it a gaming seat in moments (2 mins form hidden to playtime)

my first suggestion would be use a pc in the base of the chair and use a projector for the display.

id love to see ben build this but if its not for him please all pitch in with ideas

i have a pico projector with hdmi a spare chair (waiting to be messed with [View:/resized-image/__size/16x16/__key/communityserver-discussions-components-files/75/4380.contentimage_5F00_1.png:16:16] ) that matches current sofa (the less the wife sees the less she will care)

Hi everyone... Argentum047 here. I have been thinking of buying a video game chair and started doing some research. Currently, I play console and use a large bean bag from LovSac. My Sac is great, but it would be great to have more support overall. My research has led me to a few brands. Namely DXRacer, X Rocker, Merax, Maxnomic, and Arozzi. I know I do not want a chair with speakers. Therefore, most (if not all) of the X Rocker chairs are likely out. Money is not really a concern. I have seen some chairs for around $500, but ideally, I would want the best chair for the money. However, I would be willing to pay for quality. Other info that may help: I am 6' tall, 210 lbs, and longer in my torso than legs with longer than average arms. Comfort and support are important. Color options and looks are secondary.

So this is where you come in... What are your thoughts, opinions, and recommendations on chairs? Would you buy yours again? Have you ever had a negative experience with a particular brand? Etc...I appreciate any and all feedback here. Thanks for reading and helping a fellow Agent out!

If they are (normal) 3-pin servos, you could check for a servo board or shield or HAT or cape for your favorite microcontroller. If you check for Adafruit ones, there are schematics on their website (if you don't wish to purchase ready-made servo control boards).

so im building a combo nes snes n64 and gamecube and ill be using a atx power suppliy to power the consols my question is dose the amprage have to be right on for what the console requirers or can it be a little higher .

So did you get those consoles built and did you need heat sinks? Feels like an episode of a soap . It was only a couple of years ago that I thought a LM7805 was a type of helicopter.

Automatic Hydroponic Ph balance system

Hi,

I'v just built a Deep Water Culture Hydroponic system, but I was thinking I'd like to make it off grid with soler power and a auto Ph balance system. Dose any one have any ideas on how to go about it?

the soler power system would power the air pump and like an arduino with a ph censer if it got to a proticuler lever it would administer the right amount of substance to re balance it.
