I found a technical issue with the crappy video controller on the screen. There is a 10 inch HDMI cable that goes from the Raspberry PI 3 to the HDMI to 40 pin video control board. I could see lights when I plugged in the Raspberry PI on but nothing on the screen so I changed the HDMI cable to a cheap 6 foot cable I have and it worked, So I ordered a 12 inch HDMI cable from amazon to replace there cable I figured was damaged but it did not work either. I believe signal reflection is cancelling out the signal or causing an error telling the HDMI board to shut off with the short HDMI cables. I do not know how to tell which direction the reflection is happening or which board is causing the issue. Is the reflection cause signal issue in the raspberry HDMI signal or is the reflection causing the Video control board to short or error and shut off.

Pi fash cartridge

Hi my name is Charlie I was wondering if a p.o. zero could be use to make a flash cartridge for a nes or snes

TheC64 Mini,making a replacement keyboard for it.

I was thinking it would need a usb keyboard controller that works with the C64 Mini, and you could use Mini Micro Momentary Tactile Push Button Switch,I think you used them on the ZX spectrum Potable you made,so basically replacing the fake keyboard with a real working keyboard...what you think..?

Email Notification Setup

Hi,

How can I setup the email notification with the following properties??

* I just receive email for creation of the new threads in my places and groups. So far I have worked out that it uses RS232 so hooked it up using a MAX232EPE to the Arduino and loading the attached sketch onto it. I now get feedback over serial but I don't understand how to parse it as I can't find any info on this online and don't have any more advanced tools like an oscilloscope to make sure I'm using the correct baud rate. I have attached some data I have pulled with various actions. If needed I can provide a fritzing sketch with my wiring layout but it is based on https://imgur.com/vxgZs without the 10uF capacitor or that trace. I have also attached a few pictures of the inside of the connector and its wiring. (I hooked it up with 3.3v)

Any help would be appreciated, Thanks.

I couldn't find the ohm / voltage value code for the resistor by looking up the color code online & don't know why, unless I am just having one of those days. Can someone lend a hand & help me out with this? It would be great to start for example with a temperature and humidity sensor, connected via I2C or UART to a single board computer (SBC) like Raspberry PI or Beagle Bone Black that would store the values.

There are countless ways to expand this:

The first version can just connect something like SHT30 to an SBC via I2C and store the values in a file/spreadsheet with a time stamp.

Next version could connect more (local and distant) sensors, showing how to transfer information over 1 meter+ long wires or wirelessly.

Felix could take care of the Linux part, showing us how to store the records in a database and display the values to the user on a smart phone or a tablet (set up a local web server, database server).

Karen could show how to build some simpler analog sensors like a photo sensor, microphone... and teach us how to design and/or build a case for the device and sensors.

Later, Bob could incorporate some cloud service and Alexa for processing and controlling the home remotely. Or add a possibility to display / control from a mobile app or a web page.

I think it might be useful to divide this into several independent parts that could be built separately in all your shows, every time from a different perspective, adding one feature at a time.

David

Which gyro to buy?

Hey everyone I am a young diy'er and I'm building a drone, but which gyro+accellerometer and possibly magnetometer do I need, which is best?

PSP 3000 start up problem

Been having a weird issue with my PSP. It won't turn on without being plugged in, despite having a battery installed in it. I remember in the past that I had on repeated occasions accidentally left the thing on charging for a long time. I'm not sure if this is affecting the battery or the plug. However I go to plug it in the orange light appears for the power station indicating that it's supposed to be charging. When I turn the system on it says it's charging, however it never seems to charge. If I unplug it while it's been charging for a while the system automatically just shuts off. Also there will be times where it will be connected to the charging plug, and we'll say that it's just operating off of the battery. However it will not operate with just the battery in portable mode. It must be plugged in with the Charger and ordered turn on. The charger seems to be a little bit fickle as well. Unless it is plugged in tightly or moves around a little bit the thing will shut off and not operate. Sometimes I have to hold the PSP in a certain position for the plug to be fully registered as in. Sometimes I have to push it in hard for the thing to stay in at all. My question mainly is what's the problem here? Could it be just I need a new battery for it? Or do I need to have the socket replaced for the plug? Or could it be a combination of the two? Does anybody have the skill in repairing one of these things? As I do not currently possess any sort of electrical engineering skills. I would be most grateful if somebody would be willing to help me with this. I would like it to be able to get back to the point where I can use it as a portable handheld without having to have it be on the charger all the time.

SNES controller classic

hello

Ben, Felix, or Karen is possible to make the SNES controller classic to fit in SNES normal?

Best regards

thought of the day,,,

i was thinking after looking at some 3d print i made but decided to pitch and go in another direction
then i thought, is there a way to build a rig to reuse the plastic/abs from your failed p3d prints

1) mulch the old print in a blender type set up

2) remelt it in a pot, reheat it and push thru something

3) extrude back out to 1.75 / 3mm dia

4) cool it in a water bath

5) respool it...

6) reprint with your new reused plastic/abs in funky colors or back to it org color

so are ya up for the challage??

Is the timer of an arduino accurate enough to build a clock or do I need a RTC?

Is the timer of an arduino accurate enough to build a clock or do I need a RTC?
