I like a "live edge" timber too! I may add a little one too my next trial (I have some apple off cuts somewhere I think).
I can't hear a member of may family say "I'll have a Tea please" without me adding "Bob" on the end of it!
I'm doing to try another small sample with come embeded electronics to see what works and what doesn't. I'm hoping capacitive touch works through the resin hapily. Also - I have children, fingerprints are inevitable!
The PCB table-top looks good but that single strip of lighter wood at the top looks a bit out of place to me.
I quite like the 'river' resin tables where the rough edge blends into the epoxy and you have the part opaque / part translucent effect, something like:
The hexagonal interactive touch table also looks good and has the bonus of being interactive.
( Add some letters an it perhaps would be ideal for fans of the 'Blockbusters' gameshow -

I guess there is nothing stopping you from having the interactivity aspect around the edges with the PCBs in the centre or perhaps even the other way around.
However, with interactivity, comes dirty fingerprints... and scratches.

Although some tables appear to be the opposite - they are round when fully closed and have 'flats' when opened up.
They are indeed awesome - and I would gladly have one (although building one may be a step too far for my carpentry skills, or lack thereof).
However, there is one thing that has always bugged me slightly about these, and that beautiful video has made me think it is probably right. As the radius of the two tables is different, and the arc length for the "larger" one is correct, does that mean that the smaller table isn't round? The fact that they didn't show an overhead shot of it completely assembled in it's small shape makes me think this is right?
