The response to the Creature from the Crab Nebula has been great. People around here aren't interested in the technology or the design, they just like the unusual nature of it, the lights and motion, and its response to people nearby. Grownups grin and are surprised by the heat sensor, kids find it to be a hoot - not too scary. I thought our cat would freak but she wasn't scared either, just curious.

Wow! This is such a nice build. I love the all-in-one motor drive/mechanism. The 3D design is absolutely amazing. I can only begin to guess the number of hours spent on designing and printing all the pieces. In the end, everything fits so well.

Hi Doug,

That is a fantastic build. From the sound of the clicking parts it appears you've made everything spot on as well. The motion you've achieved from one motor is awesome. All the white plastic reminds me of the complex mechanisms you'd find in an old VCR.

Did you make the cowling for the PIR sensor as well ? I've got a similar module (SR-501) and noticed that the electrolytic caps were already knocked about; a few more incidents would likely fracture them off the board.
