I'm not even sure why there isa caps lock on a keyboard. I never type long sequences of capitals anyway.

Yep - I have been CL-ocked.

I like the idea of doing something about it.

Some alternate actions might be to illuminate a bright LED or simply use the HID functionality to toggle CPS LOCK OFF whenever it goes on, so it is always off.

I did not know the caps lock was os controlled. That means window driver should be able to negate.
