Just a reminder, eye-protection is super-useful when using those rotary tools : )

There's another Multicomp meter which is surprisingly nice, and is low-cost. It is MP730624 [mention:62937a18878e47feb3f86c84b7a1eb97:f7d226abd59f475c9d224a79e3f0ec07] . The one you've got is twice the price, and the main difference seems to be the AC bandwidth which is much better by far on the instrument you have. The cheaper model has BLE but your model has USB, which is where I'm guessing the cost comes from, since it's an extra module and more complicated moulding for the optical parts. For those who don't need USB, the MP730624 would be highly attractive, were it not for the fact that the AC bandwidth is mediocre on the MP730624 : (

I thought it was just me, but glad I'm not, regarding LCD font looking like 7-segment. I too find it weird. Very nice that it can plot current consumption! Looking forward to seeing what you construct.
