Very nice project. Now, if I could only adapt this design to give my cat a pill. I have an aging cat that requires about 2 1/2 pills a day, that he does not really want to take (for a while I was able to hide the pills in peanut butter, but he has since decided that peanut butter is no longer a snack). The current method is to first find then cat, then usually extracting the cat from underneath a bed, then to prying his mouth open and shooting in the pill(s). That would take one complex machine.

That Obniz looks like a nice dev board and platform too.

I see it uses the ESP32 chip too.

A few years ago I built a cat treat (or food) self-serve dispenser, and I tried to train Charlie Kat to press the button, but ultimately he trained me to press the button for him.

I had also wanted to use the pipe+screw setup like you have it, but not having a 3D printer made that too tricky at the time.

I've been meaning to IoT this feeder, but it's still just sitting in the basement. I may have to dust it off again now that you have inspired me!
