But be very careful as the power line (mains) is being directly connected to and can easily kill or mame you. For example, if your scope ground strap touches the hot side of the mains circuit, you&amp;#39;ll likely get severe sparks. Basically, it&amp;#39;s small pieces of molten metal that get thrown and can land in your eye and blind you. Or can land on your skin and burn you. Even worse, you can get electrocuted if you touch one side of the line with one hand and touch the other side of the line with the other hand. Isolation transformers can greatly reduce the danger, but not eliminate it.
