If you are powering up when holding the device in different positions, then this could alter the initial threshold setting.

If you haven't already done so, you may want to check the threshold value that has been set to see if it is consistent or not.

You could over-ride it so that you get the same setting every time.

The focus of my module was users and interaction, rather than technology, electronics and coding, but textbook we used 'Interaction Design: Beyond Human-Computer Interaction' by Yvonne Rogers, Helen Sharp, and Jennifer Preece featured some electronics and maker projects, including the Lilypad Arduino kit that inspired me to try this! It was a bit of a learning curve.

I looked it up on Amazon and it's a silly price (more than £60 for latest 6th Edition). I bought the 4th edition for £3.36 including shipping from Ebay.

I've had a quick skim (of the book) and I congratulate you on breaking out from this awful book (my opinion of it) and actually getting stuck into trying to make something.

Was this book the primary text used in your module ?
