This project shows how much fun can be had with even simple ideas. This is a great inspiration to those who are looking for projects that will help them learn electronics. I bet you could wire up a coil of wire at the ends of the ferris wheel spokes that pass by a neodynium magnet. This generated voltage could flash LEDs without having to have an Arduino and power mounted to the wheel.

Simple idea.

What does the Arduino do as it seems that the LEDs were simply static in the video.
