Anyway, it kind of works.

Basically I took a Dremel grinder wheel to it, but that had zero effect, so then a diamond-coated slitting wheel was attempted (with it partially in water so that it wouldn't overheat the scriber tip). It was all handheld dremelling so there's no accuracy, but I managed to make a groove in the scriber.. seems to scoop out copper+FR2, good enough for the few times I need to do it.

I don't know what the optimal shape is.

Anyway, the workflow with this is to either first cut a line into the copper using a craft knife, or just skipping that and just using the grooved scriber in a single step.

[View:/resized-image/__size/620x483/__key/commentfiles/f7d226abd59f475c9d224a79e3f0ec07-ef0670d0-c2b5-48f9-8a02-9ec5ef39e4d4/contentimage_5F00_208546.jpg:620:483]

RE: DIY 100kHz VCO - Build & Test

Great video resource links. It seems like a very useful way of creating VCO capability for this frequency range. There is LM331 but it's really expensive in comparison, making LM331 often impractical : (

I have trouble cutting the copper too, good idea about that perspex cutting tool!

RE: DIY 100kHz VCO - Build & Test

Nice post.DAB
