We are working with UVC 254nm disinfector. We have developed a couple of models for fighting against Hospital Acquired Infections, a leading cause of global death. As usual no human being cannot be exposed during the disinfection period. In this case FAR UVC [200 - 222nm] is getting popular as it is not harmful to human skin. But the 222nnm lamp price is way too high. It has to be reduced, otherwise it won't reach to common people.

Just as a small update, the code is currently broken due to a change in the source data format : ( It will need fixing but hopefully the change is minor.

Also, there's another data set called VAERS, it reports adverse vaccine reactions and deaths. It requires experts to make real use of it, since it is easy to come up with incorrect assumptions based on just looking at a few numbers.

Anyway, for what it's worth, there is some very simple Python code to begin looking at the data, here: https://github.com/shabaz123/vaers-insight

Yikes. I would like to see real proof that high-energy UVC can't penetrate skin, cause sun burn, damage cells or cause cataracts.

Great post Douglas.

Have you considered putting a tube or straw inside the mask and using that to dump CO2 inside the mask directly on a sensor?

The main concern is that CO2 will build up in the lungs because you do not get a good interchange of fresh air in versus CO2 outflow creating a net CO2 gain in the lungs.

I see that Ben Heck has been working on some automated face mask designs recently. Allows you to remove the mask when it is serving no useful purpose, whilst avoiding the need to touch the face. May be of interest.

Another useful device for actually measuring the effect on you would be a pulse oximeter that measures the oxygen concentration in the blood. This obviously won't tell you if you're compensating in some way - e.g. breathing more heavily - but otherwise it will show what's happening to your body.

I've got a heart rate 4 click sensor so I'll try to dig this out and try it without a mask. However, after an Azure Sphere update my existing code no longer run as-is.
