Re-engineering the Classic Connect 4 game into an Internet-Enabled Handheld arvindsa built a portable, handheld version of Connect4 for playing on the go, offline, as well as using online gameplay functionality. A Santa That Deems People Naughty and Nice (with a Nerf Gun) donutsorelse made a computer vision-powered Santa decides whether festive guests are ‘naughty’ or ‘nice’. Any guests unfortunate enough to be deemed naughty get blasted with foam Nerf darts and nice guests get candy thrown at them. MIDI Percussion Controller dougw created a MIDI controller to convert electronic drum pad signals into MIDI data. Drum pads that use piezo disks to sense drum stick hits work with a microcontroller to perform digital signal processing and translate the signals into valid MIDI data. Consequently, any drum pad can be assigned to sound like any percussion instrument. Retrofit to Portable Illumination Microscope fyaocn took a portable hidden camera detector and adapted it into a light ring for a microscope to maintain uniform illumination and clear, detailed visibility across the observation area. A Simple Talking Quiz Using an MCU Grovety designed an interactive, multiple-choice quiz on animals using a touch UI, graphics, and an offline speech module to create a playful way to learn. Words don’t do it justice so check out the video showing the hourglass lit up and functioning in the dark is well worth watching. Simon Memory Game – Arcade Mode meera_hussien is working on an fun, arcade-style version of the classic Simon memory game where a player has to remember and then enter an increasingly-long sequence of colors. The game will be housed in a robust, 3D-printed enclosure to help make the game child-friendly. The MAX32666 toy platform obones built an interactive toy with multiple modes around an 8x8 WS2812B LED matrix. Shaking the toy makes it display a number between 1 and 6, allowing it to function as a regular 6-sided dice. Plus, the brightness level is adjustable as well. This is another great-looking, very visual project where you really need to see the full write-up and video. Real-Time Rocket Launch Countdown Console Prasanth_R has a new way to keep up with the latest big rocket launches with their new rocket launch countdown console, featuring a live clock counting down to the next rocket launch, including details like the vehicle, country and launchpad, and option to view the launch location on a map. The RC Rubber Duck with a Hammer robogary has turned a radio-controlled truck chassis into a rubber duck in a miniature tub with a swinging hammer and sound effects. Check out the videos to see the duck in action at a scifi convention and at a robotics class! Sharky the Chase Tank (Gen0) autonomous nemesis of the RC Hammering Rubber Duck in the Tub This second project from robogary complements the RC Hammering Rubber Duck in the Tub entry, with the shark autonomously hunting down the nefarious hammering duck, using a PixyCam robot vision image sensor to detect the duck.
