BTW I use a variation of CAN&amp;nbsp; called CANaerospace (higher-level protocol.) and you can send it over an Ethernet cable.&amp;nbsp; one twisted pair, and one more for ground. Collimated light is a specific thing (like lasers and the sun). This is just reflecting and somewhat focusing the light. I was /very/ close to adding PIR when I did my backsplash tile (video below) but IR light doesnt transmit through normal glass tile. I was going to embed the PIR sensor behind the tiles. I want to add a motion sensor in my kitchen to do just as you do as well.
