I think you can also add to the data logged the points of time where the oven was turned on/off, temperature adjusted. This may help you tuning the led indicators timings (how far in advance the oven has to be turned off/off, temperature dialed up/down) and probably will help you get closer to the recommended temperature profile.

And the result is very nice too - very nice looking board.

I recently saw an old toaster oven for cheap and was tempted to get it for reflow, but figured that would be yet another project I don't have time for - but it looks like this didn't take you very long ...or was it a camera trick making it look easier and quicker than real life? Did you manually adjust the temperature over time, or do you have the controller turning the power to it on and off as needed?

Great project. I've always wanted to build a fully automated reflow oven but I haven't ventured into making my own SMD boards yet. I really wanted to try to reflow some boards that have intermittent BGA connections. One is an RPi that sometimes will work if I push on the top of the processor. It was an early life failure - actually the first RPi that I got that was manufactured in China. I doubt if I would have much success reflowing it.

Anyway, I was going to invest in a cheap oven to dry out the dessicant that I use for my 3D filament. Now you've inspired me to try doing some manual reflow.

Very nice project. I too have been interested in doing some reflow, allowing me to work with some of the lead-less packages that I can't hand solder. I will have to give this a try. Thanks for sharing!

I've never tried sm components - I don't think my hand soldering is up to it!

Maybe I need an oven like yours!

This is very impressive. I am amazed that a reflow oven can be made so (apparently ) easily. Is the MKR 1010 essential or could any Arduino board be used. Do you have to use special wires/insulation inside the oven as I would expect them to melt? I did not see anything mentioned in your Blog but I might have missed it.
