Can I suggest in the final version of making a hole somewhere to the bottom for the servo control cable?

Just about your issue on the servos. Take into account that - probably most, mine all - the servos when are powered immediately goes to zero. This means that you should consider this situation (maybe test the supposed wrong ones again) when screwing the servo lever. For example, IMHO, power on the servo, leave it to position to zero then fix the box lid in the desired starting position (maybe full open or half open depending on the angles of the servos when the lid is closed / open. Then screw the lever in that position.

In my projects using servos, the most tricky point is always to "register" the right power on the position of the servo just to avoid undesired movements when powering on them.

Enrico

RE: JackBox #3 : Opening and Closing the Lid

[mention:d25512d61e65470296ce2f82f47741ab:e9ed411860ed4f2ba0265705b8793d05], you can format your Arduino sketch source in the blog by using the C++ formatting option.

Select the code in the editor, press the >> button, and select syntax highlighting -> c++

RE: JackBox #3 : Opening and Closing the Lid

Very cool. The lid mechanism is working quite nicely, well done! Looking forward to your further updates.

Good luck and keep up the good work!

Gene
