Very cool to see you are using an ESP-01 too! Those are really neat little gadgets, especially considering their price point.

I did order a few similar items recently to compare to: a Wemos D1 mini and a Witty. They are a few dollars more, like 4 or 5 bucks each, but they include the power regulation so we save that bit of fuss for powering it. For my project I soldered together a little usb powered regulator based on AMS1117 which is working nicely.

I didn't realize we could hook it up to IFTTT - I might need to check that out. I've been writing my own php scripts.

And also I see you are using the Dallas 1-wire temperature sensor - that's exactly what I want to do next to monitor some outside temperatures (unrelated project). Thank you for that perfect timing!

And I agree with Gene - 10 seconds would never fly in this house!
