It isn't really finished, so I've called it a 'prototype'. As such, treat any res.

RE: Simple NANO Battery Tester Prototype

Hi Jon - sorry I missed this when you first posted [View:/resized-image/__size/16x16/__key/commentfiles/f7d226abd59f475c9d224a79e3f0ec07-896fc8c3-1cdf-4e52-8043-8294d03f4894/contentimage_5F00_734.png:16:16]

Very nice project, which incidentally picks up something I recently noticed - there may be useful energy left in a battery battery when a device no longer works.

In my case it was a wireless mouse, running on a single AA Duracell. I had accumulated quite a few "dead" ones & decided to put the meter on them. Most of them still read over 1.1V. I tried them - 3 at a time - in an LED candle. Two lots of 3 both still had enough energy left in them to run the candle for about 50 hours each. Currently running on the the 3rd batch of 3!

Neil

RE: Simple NANO Battery Tester Prototype

A very interesting project. Initially (going by the title) I assumed it would just be a simple project measuring something under fixed load, but no, it is measuring internal resistance! : ) The video is like a dying duracell bunny : )

That's some major prototyping on the stripboard too : ) If you would like CAD PCB files from those schematic sketches, I'd be happy to convert it for you if you like. Since you're using easily-available parts, it is a quick thing for me to make a schematic+board layout in EAGLE.

The charts you're obtaining look like they should too, so it's probably not far off. If you want to see some charts from a commercial battery tester, there are some here: B&K Precision Battery Analyzer, BA6010 Series - Review

However I only tested rechargeable cells, but they are easily available ones in the UK.
