Do you have a download link for the 3D files? &lt;p&gt;In it&amp;#39;s original context this diagram and description makes sense (although it contains errors which you have faithfully reproduced) but it is worth noting that modern digital osciloscopes do not work like this.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I think that at the very least you should update your references, but should also consider if the extent of your &amp;quot;quoting&amp;quot; of other people&amp;#39;s work is within reasonable and legal bounds.&lt;/p&gt;
