Nice work.

Looks like there is a lot of force on the grinding wheel.

What amazed me more was how the stone was held on to the bit that went onto the rotating pice.

What an amazing piece of work! I loved the video of the original machine, which was also amazing. I once worked on a robotic platform for faceting synthetic diamonds. These robotic devices used teknic clearpath motors, which have built-in intelligent controllers (servo/stepper replacements). This was my first introduction to this product line, but if I were ever going to build a CNC device, I think this would be my first choice (except for cost). Very robust and many available motor sizes.

Good luck on this project, I look forward to seeing your progress through this development.

Another beautiful project! : ) Amazing how useful the Arduino system is to build such custom machines, and full user-input/menu system too. Very cool : )

I was also very interested in your motor control, I recently purchased 'leadshine' motor controllers, I have yet to try them.
