Basically as part of this project I am putting together IR break Beam IFTTT node, which send a message to the IFTTT cloud based on whi.

RE: IR Break Beam IFTTT Sensor

Do you know if the beam break sensor modulates the IR it sends? That tends to make it far less susceptible to interference from sunlight, etc. I don't see it mentioned in the Adafruit documentation. It might be an interesting side bar to find out.

You can probably tell I'm looking at all the Photonics projects, as I've just realised the next two projects I read would be useful to a) measure this and b) demonstrate that many IR LEDs sensors are modulated at 38kHz for this reason.

Simple light flicker meter

Photonics: Wireless Communication with Infrared

RE: IR Break Beam IFTTT Sensor

Cool little project! Thanks for sharing.
