I powerded them sometimes over Usb but mostly over the 5V dc jack in my Lunchbox dev kit.

The Debian Image is stock as it Comes.

I had a power down Loop twice with ATX based Computers. One was caused by electromagnetic interferrence with my old Laser Printer.

The other case was caused by a ground Loop on behalf of the crappy old case, which caused the PSU to restart as soon as it got the shutdown Signal from the Motherboard. (I solved that by chaniging the power supply and Case)

So my uneducated guess is you may have some interferrence going on.

RE: BoneCommander - A Ruggedized BeagleBone Linux Computer

Hi Trent!

Great-looking project : ) Although it has a cute beaglebone name, it truly is the Darth Vader of SBCs in its ruggedized black shell : )

I too am still experiencing that issue with it not shutting down (using the desktop image). I've noticed that the shutdown does work if the BeagleBone Black Wireless is powered from the USB port. But doesn't work if it is being powered from the 5V DC connector : (

Interesting to hear that it works with the IoT image.

Nice that you're implementing GPS for this mobile computer too! Keep up the great work : )

RE: BoneCommander - A Ruggedized BeagleBone Linux Computer

Interesting project to read. Extra marks for recycling packaging!

Does it say cool with just the holes drilled in the case, or do you thing you will need to add a fan?

Kind regards

RE: BoneCommander - A Ruggedized BeagleBone Linux Computer

Great project! That is a clean looking portable Linux computer. Well done.

Gene
