It can be a Something You Shrink or Grow like the Cartridge-Sized NES Portable Grand Prize (plus a $100 Shopping Cart) or a Data Acquisition project involving measurement systems such as thermocouples, piezos, and other sensors.

The theme this month is A Question of Scale and it comes from a suggestion from beacon_dave and a follow up suggestion from jack.chaney56 (who thought of projects involving measurement systems such as thermocouples, piezos, and other sensors). The original idea was to take something and scale it up or down like Ben Heck’s Giant Game Boy , Ben Heck's Hand Soldered Portable Atari 2600 , or Jumbo Servo by Workshopshed. While we are talking about great projects from element14's The Ben Heck Show , you could also throw in Episode 206: Ben Heck's ZX Spectrum 2.0 which Workshopshed won for his entry in Winner Announcement: Ben Heck's Portable ZX Spectrum! Ben Heck, like many of you, holds a special place in my heart, it was the only program that I was on during my first year on the element14 community.

If there was ever a Project14 contest to tie in with a Ben Heck giveaway, a rarity now that he has officially retired, this would be the one to do it with. The Giant Game Boy lives in the canteen of the Chicago office and would be a nightmare to ship but luckily we still have builds leftover from Ben to use in giveaways, one of them being, the Yobo NOAC Nintendo Portable "How Small Can it Be?"! It's a Cartridge-Sized NES Portable, that accepts actual cartridges from the original NES system, a system that also holds a special place in my heart, as it was the first game console I ever owned. You can win it as the Grand Prize (along with a $100 Shopping Cart for the most exciting A Question of Scale project that either grows or shrinks something either up or down in scale.

Should you decide to do a data acquisition or traditional measurement type project such as Temperature Measurement for Lab and Science Projects by shabaz , feel free to do that as well. No need to shrink something that is really big, to make it small, or vice versa. As beacon_dave mentioned data acquisition and measurement projects are "good for getting the younger generation interested in measuring the real world around them" and "Pico Technology has a list of educational projects for data acquisition type projects". Like all Project14 contests, we'll have 3 First Place Winners and a $100 Shopping Cart prize.

Winners will be chosen by community member judges who will look for 4 things:

Did you Stick to the Theme?
Did you list the Steps?
Video Proof (You are Encouraged to be Creative and Have Fun)!

List the Steps	Submit Video Proof
Provide the steps you took to complete your project (text, video, or images). This could be a step by step how-to-guide, vlog, schematics, coding, napkin drawings, voice narration, or whatever you think will be useful!	If it doesn't work that's fine, this is more about the journey than the end product. A short video is all that is required but you can shoot as much video as you like. You are encouraged to be creative and have as much fun as possible!
