Today I was disassembling a power supply and trying to learn on my own what the components are. I can go back to compare what you have documented here. Also like you , over the years accumulated several of these. However, unlike you, one day I just decided that it was unrealistic of me to think that I would ever repair any of them, so I dumped the lot. I will admit to a great sense of relief that I was no longer under any pressure to fix 'things'. Now, if anything breaks I dump it automatically and get a new one. It might not be that eco-friendly but I generally find that most equipment is not designed to be maintained or repaired any more so I've stopped trying.

I do enjoy watching other people fix things though.
