Mark, it's a great project. What did you use as the third wheel?

The solution to detect the obstacles seems very efficient and more reliable than a loft of alternatives I saw.

I've updated this with the code (in plain text as It's Picaxe Basic) and the motor with which gear option we chose.

That is totally cool! I love the bumper concept. I too had tried several different feeler approaches on a robotics project many years ago (20 years?), but they would all eventually fail. The triangular slotting and the fixed bumper is very creative.

Hi Mark,

This is a really inventive build. I really liked the bumper design. It reminds me of what they use on my robot vacuum cleaners. I wouldn't be surprised if they owed you an acknowledgement. Watching the robot in the box reminded me of some of our politicians trying to talk their ways out of similar situations.
