Thanks for posting this great project even though you were past the dead line. It is very impressive, the amount of work and the quality that you put into it. Doing things well has its own rewards but the respect of your audience is a nice extra bonus.

It's worth building a dedicated PCB with Atmel chip and resistors on it just for this I reckon : ) there are so many toys this project could be retrofitted inside.

the points where the op-amp is frantically trying to get its output to the right place to effect the changeover between the two transistors.

That was one of the topics of my final project when studying electronics. I made an audio pre-amp and power amp. Studying the cross-over behaviour of push-pull - and biasing - was part of that.

I had forgotten most of it until I started reading The Art of Electronics recently.

Nice project. This remember me when we was creating "audio boards" for 386 PC with the parallel port and 8 different resistors following the same principle.
