For me, 3 weeks is more than a reasonable time to move to alternative repair strategy than proper restoration at all. But ofcourse, if the goal itself is to avoid such retrofit, You have my cheers.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;And it seems at end it became opposite of Spring clean. The fix it pile became more than less. &lt;p&gt;I bought this receiver in 1981 and its been used ever since. When audio doesnt come out, its always the switch contacts needing cleaned. Main selector switch, tape switch, input selector sw get a spritz of contact cleaner.&amp;nbsp; Nothing in the receiver has ever failed. The receiver is 25Watts out. It feeds a Carver magnetic amplifier which purchased in ~1984 is still cranking 100w a side without a hitch. They feed Bose 601s&amp;nbsp; series 2 purchased in 1982, I did have to replace the foam suspensions a few years ago.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
