This board comes with Arduino Uno form factor which makes it possible to use more add-on boards on top.

So I would perhaps make use of LoRa connectivity with P2P connection and make something like a LoRa-based communication with display, call, messaging features.

My project: The WRONGCO 433 Mhz wireless morse code key for my "green go kit" amateur radio station. I can send and receive sitting in a lounge chair while drinking a solar chilled tropical beverage. The Latte Panda inside is running Windows 11, and this week, W11 decided the USB->232 converter used to interface the transmitter is obsolete & unsupported. I need to win a new USB converter . :-)

Hi all! I want to use this boards for wirelessly locking and unlocking my bicycle using a handheld remote module. It will be interesting to compare it with ESP8266 running ESP NOW protocol. as ESP NOW also promises long range communication, it will be an interesting comparison. Another interesting aspects to look into will be power efficiency, data rate and robustness in challenging environments for reliable communication.

It would be very useful for me to use a NUCLEO-WL55JC1 board to be able to monitor an irrigation tank in a place that is more than 200 meters from my house and which is not connected to the electricity grid. I think Lorawan could be a good solution!

I'm having a hard time figuring out what this module is and I could not get a definitive answer from looking at the product pages.
On the one hand, with two cores and lots of peripherals, it sounds like it is similar to an ESP32/RP2040 with the added SubGHz module
But on the other hand, I have a feeling that it's more similar to an RFM69 or SX1276 module and that it would need a host CPU to work with.

Anyway, in both cases, I also have a hard time figuring out if it's only capable of packet mode or if it can output "raw" demodulated signal or even I/Q samples.

For the project I have in mind I would need I/Q samples or better yet raw demodulated output but I'm not sure it's something really "visual" that would have a "wow" effect in a video.

I've been busy with extending USB for an ASIO audio mixer (which I am hoping to do with single pair ethernet). Given the potential data rate limitations, with probably wouldn't be suitable... but, along those same lines of bus extension, it seems to me this would make a great platform to extend an I2C bus wireless (for low data rate applications). You could have remote clock regeneration.

With this approach, there is a whole host of devices you could place remotely: HID, sensors, actuators...

We have a thing we do called a "fox hunt" where we hide a small transmitter that operates periodically and the people try and find the "fox" with directional antennas and handheld ham radios. I could build a "fox" from a ST - JC2 board.

I am new on the site and in these challenges, but I would want to try and build something.

My project idea:

The problem:
Have you ever lost a tool from your toolbox? Maybe you really needed one of your tools, but couldn't remember where you left it...

The solution:

Place transmitter antennas on your tools. Create an interface for the Nucleo board to select the tool you are searching for and get the direction of your lost tool.

Needed board:

I would want to use the NUCLEO-WL55JC1, because I want to make the circuit as small as possible. With this I would have higher frequency -> smaller wavelength -> smaller dimensions.

I am really curious what you think about my project idea. I would love to hear your thoughts on this.

Great Project14 topic! Has a lot of cool applications coming to low power and fairly long range.

I am interested to build a home door monitoring project using a pair of NUCLEO-WL55JC1 one inside the house with sensors attached and other as a remote unit with buzzer for monitoring from anywhere in the apartment building or vicinity while I am out of the house in the terrace or grocery shop downstairs.

I want to try my hand at this one. But I do have one doubt, won't we need two boards? (One for tx and another for rx) Or is it interoperable with any LORA module (Such as sx1276)

The data sheet specifies 150 MHz to 960 MHz frequency range, however the web site states there are different boards for different frequencies from 433 to 510 and 865 to 928. Which boards do you have for this project? I would like to try to decode radiosonde data from weather balloons at 403 MHz.
