very informative project. What kind of receiver could be used in this frequency band? I have read that in 80m band ferrite antennas are used to provide required directional characteristics, but here frequency is too high...

The nice thing about your project, it was kept simple and focused on the goal. The talkie library was an interesting idea. With the mod, what mode did the transmitter change to so the receiver could pick it up ?

I've got plenty of 'foxes' lurking in the wild at work, interfering with my licensed 600MHz PMSE spectrum. What I need is the RDF kit in order to try and locate them.

Any idea the reason behind that ? Orienteering, geocaching, road rallying would appear to maintain their levels of interest. Sounds like some element is missing.

A very cool project. Now I have several new needs, a VNA and a good radio receiver, maybe SDR? How difficult would it be to make a receiver with a 433MHz module to interpret the Morse signals or other code?
