That's a cool name for a project : )

I've never thought of doing this, until very recently when I was trying to control 4 analog quantities. Until my project changed, I was about to build a general-purpose box with 4 pots and a couple of switches, and the connections coming out to a DIL header instead of a BNC, so that jumper wires could be plugged in and patched to (say) a breadboard).

Simple is sometimes better complex. If it gets the job done, then all is good.
