Good idea with the JST ready-crimped cables. Way cheaper (and safer) to buy those than attempt to crimp the battery connections with inexact crimp tools : )

It is nice to see this pretty new RISC-V MCU in action. Chinese labels in IDE and documentation makes this chip significantly less attractive since I can't read/write/speak chinese.

Excellent results and it looks a lot more affordable than the likes of a Photoship One 'Flyline' camera rig for non-professional use.

One way to measure speed is with a slotted wheel on the motor shaft, an LED to shine thru it, and a light detector to see the light.. Here is just one example to get you started. https://bc-robotics.com/product-category/robotics/wheel-encoders/

For the nuts that vibrate themselves loose: locktite sells thread glue that prevents this.
