Am I right in guessing that you won't be using this while the Guinea Pigs are inside?

Otherwise you'll scare the crap out of them.

that is the best thing since sliced bread. I really like that! can´t wait to see it in action and the code that makes it tick!

I would recommend using a poop scoop(a scoop with holes in it do the beddign can go through but the poop gets racked away) attached to a rotary axis. so when the bot dedects the poo it can aling the scoop and push the pop towards the nearest side and then along that side to the final resting place.

AI can learn from previous actions to determine the best way of moving towards the poop and the ideal way to move it away.

Interesting project, but I think applying AI for such task is a bit of an overkill. Supposing you are going to use a camera to locate the droppings, the difference between the guinea pig droppings and the wood shavings is easily identifiable by just looking at the pixels' colour, so it will be far easier (and faster) just to implement your own algorithm rather than using AI. Looking forward to see how this project will evolve.

Ok, but 2 questions

1. You have picked up a piece of crap with the gripper. Now, what do you do with your prize?

2. How are you going to locate the crap? or are you going to scan it like a tv one dot at a time?
