Very interesting - but not directly usable for our SPE Design Challenge - Microchip produces 10BASE-T1S (short range, multi-point) components (I have even bought some while waiting for SPE design challenge to start but it seems that it would involve too much time to show some differences between short-range and long-range SPE - maybe in some sort of follow-up?) and our design kit is 10BASE-T1L (point-to-point, long range) based

Thanks misaz, nice analysis. You may try a different solder to see if that changes your performance.

I also received this soldering station for the Hypershock webinar. I took unboxing photos, but hadnt yet tried to use it. I hoped to use it to replace some PL259 coax connectors on RG8X cable but the sharp tip provided is not proper for that purpose, I need to order a chisel tip.
