SUMMARY:Designing IoT Sensor Applications Using the World’s Most Energy Friendly EFM32 MCU’s and Sensors from Silicon Labs
DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:onEsSGX.png In this session we will look at building a sensor node using the EFM32 Zero Gecko MCUs along with the light, temperature and humidity sensors from Silicon Labs. Starting with a quick overview of the hardware, connecting them to the dev tools and downloading the demo code using Simplicity Studio. Moving on to manipulating some of the control code for the sensors and the low power modes for the MCU. After this session you will have a clear understanding of the devices, their capabilities and the starter kits available to get you up and running quickly. Presenter: Matt Saunders, MCU Marketing Manager - EMEA, Silicon Labs Matt has worked with microcontrollers for over 15 years so he understands what makes a great MCU and what developers need to be able to work with them efficiently. Prior to joining Silicon Labs, he gained extensive design and development background in military avionics and had worked for ST Microelectronics and ARM. He has worked with ARM based microcontrollers since 2006 and deep experience with ARM Cortex-M based devices.
