Can these devices be run continuously from a 5V source?

So we don't need to worry about charging every day.

An interesting device, but it seems the air quality monitoring is the "new" in-thing to do. Regardless, I think tariq.ahmad, you mean a Honeywell HAQ Air Quality Monitor rather than a Honeywell High Air Quality Monitor ...

I'll see whether I can make it to the webinar, but it's at 4-5am in Sydney, so I have my doubts. Instead, I think I will post my question(s) here in advance in a blockquote:

Air quality monitoring is a hot topic and there are a number of companies using different sensing technologies (including MOX, laser particulate scattering sensors, infrared CO2 detection) and algorithms (some of which are threshold based and others "AI" based) to derive air quality "dashboard" style indications and measurements of different parameters (or their equivalents).
Could you elaborate on the technologies of the sensors used within the HAQ, the reliability of the readings from these sensors and what studies have been done in order to correlate the IQ% reading with actual cognitive impairment? The datasheet unhelpfully claims that it reports a range of 0-100% with an accuracy of 1%, when I suspect it is a resolution of 1% with an unspecified accuracy. Furthermore, is the CO2 reading based on actual CO2 (i.e. an IR-based sensor) or a CO2-eq measurement (e.g. from a MOX style sensor)?
What is the sampling rate that the unit achieves for the stated 14-hour normal mode battery life in the datasheet?
Would it be rigorous enough to say, take this unit and leave it a workplace, take the readings from the device and use it as evidence of an unfit workplace (for example)?
What sort of Wi-Fi networks does it support? Does it include corporate (e.g. 802.1x EAP authentication) Wi-Fi? Presumably it works with Honeywell Cloud, but does it work (or can it be made to work) without internet connectivity? With internet connectivity, what is the approximate bandwidth consumed by the sensor over the course of a 24-hour period?

In my house we do not really have HVAC, just Heating. If I want V or AC I go outside. Regretfully at the moment it is getting a bit cold to just be 'outside' and I have to do something like walking, digging or other stuff involving the expenditure of energy. I would like to know more about my air quality though and humidity. One day I might get something that can tell me. Sadly, Alexa doesn't yet have this information.

I really enjoyed listening/participating in this webinar. I was listening to the presentation, and learned more than I expected, which is why I asked questions. Very well done. As an engineer, I know refrigeration concepts , but not the details of buildings and their controls design. It was a great webinar.
