Are there any price reduction incentives?

I did a quick cost analysis and it about $650 Canadian. I was wondering if there might be a code to reduce the price for those purchasing the gear and participating in the project.

Being retired, I'm spending my daughter inheritance so I want to make it last as long as possible.

So much for “getting in early”. The board due for delivery W/c 12th July when I placed my order is now due 25th October which is of zero use to me in respect to these sessions. Of course I have the other three items delivered which have been paid for and now can’t be used.

It’s frustrating because these should be good sessions but without stock being held anywhere but the US, it doesn’t seem possible to attend unless one has the board already or lives in the US.

bhfletcher are you able to get stock transferred to uk.Farnell to fulfil this order for me sooner? If not, hopefully I can get all my money back without incurring any restocking fees.

I went to purchase the kit outright, but it appears the jtag to usb adapter is backordered until 9/6/21. I'm having trouble finding it somewhere else (first place I tried was digikey). Is there a substitute item that will work I can get somewhere?

I was under the impression that if you ordered the full kit that shipping was included, was I mistaken? Also, a friend as an Ultra96 V1 (the original) will they get the same out of this series?

I see the webinar will be on On24, but I see not links to how to go to the specific On24 broadcast. Will instructions be send out with links to join the webinar prior to the event, or will they be posted on the website?

Hello Guys,

I read through the comments above, and I still have some questions:

1) If I have a Windows 10 Pro/ Home OS, can I install Vitis and/or Viviado for this workshop?

2) If I have a Ubuntu 20.01 OS, can I install Vitis/ Vivado for this workshop?

3) If I create a Ubuntu 18.04.01 virtual machine using VMWare Player, can I install Vitis/ Vivado?

The order of preference for me is 2, 1, 3

Please help me understand this.

Related to the issue that I showed today when trying to add MiniZed's board definition from the New Project dialogue --

I did it correctly. Something weird is going on. There's either a bug in the tools or in the board definitions that we've loaded up on GitHub. I'm working with Xilinx now to figure out what exactly is wrong.

In the meantime, don't install any other board definitions except the one you need

I installed Vivado under Ubuntu and it required additional steps and finagling, which I documented here for anyone who is doing the same:

One question I have that may be worth discussing in Session 2 is: we installed Vitis and Vivado here and no license was required. Why did the board come with a license voucher and is there something we need to do with it?

I appreciate being upfront about the complexity of PL design.

I also agree that leveraging designs from the community is useful to get started quickly.
Love the certificate mechanism, very well done !
