About a year ago I was kindly given a similar antenna kit by Molex at a roadshow. You can see a photo of it in Molex 2.4GHz / 5GHz Antenna Kit - Review under section 8. It is a really useful kit if you are into exploring RF circuitry and so I thoroughly recommend Element14 members take part...and if you do then good luck .

You will likely find many of the antennas use a small press RF connector called a U.Fl connector. You can by a converter to SMA for that which may help you get up and running.

Sweet! I am definitely going to sharpen my question pencil for this opportunity.

I've been throwing a line into the RF development water using a Raspberry Pi. I fished RF lakes in the eighties and nineties with a 17 career in aviation electronics. I then took a career turn into computers and data communication for the next 20 years. I told my computer geek compatriots a SCSI bus is just an RF transmission line. Of course terminations and location are important along an RF transmission line.

I might have a use for a few test antennas from this webinar.

Seems to be a Good Opportunity to collect some RF Antennas for my next big project.

But am new to RF technology I really don't know what to really ask about RF Tech.

Maybe ill have to ask Google about this.

My thanks to Element14 for hosting the presentation.

I was pleasantly surprised to hear that a individual well versed in RF is something Molex feels is important to a successful project. So much so, that they want to deal with that person in a project team when it comes to RF requirements. When I worked for the telco someone would be designated technical lead on a project because they owned walkie-talkies when he was a kid and could spell RF.

More available RF ranges and advancement in technology has moved communication over radio waves along in 40 years. It seem ground planes for an antenna are still required. I seem to recall supporting a transmitter in the 400khz range, the analogy for a ground plane was the other have of the antenna buried in the ground. In the arctic, because of frozen ground and poor conductivity the ground plane was a copper wire running just under the surface of Terra forma for a mile or so. Wrap that around a cell phone and see how big the unit is.

I have received the kit. My thanks to rscasny , the Element14 team and for Molex making this happen.

I got so excited with the kit, I went and took pictures and scanned documents to share my find. I later discovered that has already been done. I won't bore you with another contents lineup of pictures.

I have to confess, many of the antennas are outside my area of expertise to use. If someone has a need for some of the samples, drop me a line. I will make a case by case decision on your request. I hate to see them sit on my shelf if someone can put them to good use.
