Very good presentation indeed... really love node red and CCS Cloud IDE, will definitely be in the to do list.

I have 2 of them and they are nice. But battery life is NO WHERE close to what was promised - mostly due to bugs I guess. I'm on my 3 set of batteries in 3 weeks.

The Gyro sensors are a bit "iffy" as well and do not always "work" - but I do hope new software will cure that as well

and last but not least - iOS / Android source for client apps are not available either (yet)

Wish I could have actually seen the presentation. It sounded pretty interesting over the phone. Also the specs look pretty interesting, although I'm not fully sure of the benefit of a CC2650 over a 2538 yet, for a pure IE³ 802.15.4 use case.

Why no visual participation you may ask? Because apparently E14 WebEx webinars suck that way and can't be accessed through the WebEx Android app in any way. I spent 15+min trying all conceivable ways, then gave up and joined a few minutes late over the phone.

I have connected my TI SensorTag CC2650 to both a Raspberry Pi with Bluetooth/WiFi dongles and an Intel Edison - the Pi/Edison then stream the sensor readings over to my laptop via WiFi/MQTT. The Edison runs off a battery, so I left it running for 3 solid hours and the Edison battery died first - of course it was handling both BLE and WiFi simultaneously.

And the CC-DEVPACK-DEBUG just landed on my doorstep after today's webinar!

If I am not wrong we also need to buy a debugger seperately for this sensor Tag.

Great Webinar and a very interesting chip.

TI has interfaced just about every sensor you could need and put it into one easy to use package.

I am definitely going to look into using these tags when I get some time.

The software looks so easy that even I might be able to get it to work.

The Webinar pointed out the interfacing with Bluemix and node.red which look very interesting. If I need flexibility, this looks to be the go to sensor.

I definitely enjoyed this webinar. Interestingly, I cannot buy one of the CC-DEVPACK-DEBUG's in Canada! They appear as 'In Stock' on the US based site but when switching delivery countries, they are listed as 'Out of Stock'. Odd in this era of shipping any where in the world. Still, very much interested in developing and 'playing' right now.

Hi!

I've seen that the Invensense MPU-9250 IMU can provide sampling frequencies up to 4 and 8 KHz for accelerometer and gyroscopes, respectively. Can these frequencies be achieved with the Sensor Tag software as it is or there is any consumption/implementation limitation? I'm not talking about the App update frequency, that may differ from the sampling one. If it is not possible to achieve these frequencies, how complex is to modify the example given to do so?

I wanted to ask you some information from the TI Sensortag.

I'm very glad if anyone will answer me

1. Is the Sensortag 2 can be used any 3 network stack in one device? (Zigbee, Blutooth, Simplelink) Askin in another way, Is there an option, to use anoher communication protocol in "one" device (with download the stack to is)?

Because from videos and documents i can't find any usefull information about it (and from forum too).

2.How can be debug the sensortag? What method is there?

Hi,

Are there any plans to offer sensor fusion algorithms on the SensorTag? I'm thinking in particular of the Invensense 9-axis accel, mag and gyro device. I think the ARM processor should be capable of running this type of scheme and was wondering whether either the Invensense implementation or a 3rd party implementation might be ported?

Awesome webinar, looking forward to trying it out on my (now) very expensive gadgets

Just getting my 2 sensor tags I ordered to Israel.

Cost- $58.

Shipping $0 (moved to the second part of the parcel)

Customs clearance duties (Fedex, the crooks) $45.

Admittedly I'm going to pay in coins which makes me feel a bit better.

I guess the breakdown for the second part of the order (debug board) will be

Cost - $15

Shipping - $7

Customs clearance duties $45.

If anyone watching the thread is an MBA at TI or Element14, you need to figure out how to get another import channel. (Ebay vendors use regular airmail quite happily)

Fedex is doubling your landed dev equipment costs to the startup nation.

Your hardware prices are good for these dev boards, but I'll think twice about getting TI products if I have to use Fedex if I get such poor signal to noise ration on bootstrapped startup hardware.

I sent a complaint to the estore. Watch out for shipping burn fellow sensortaggers.
