In this session, we will be creating a multi-node sensor network that will take advantage of multiple wireless technologies. Within this session, we will rapidly prototype various sub-GHz RF sensor nodes that will interface to various sensors, including moisture, ambient light, ultrasonic & temperature. These sensor nodes will benefit from sub-GHz RF modules, which enable low-power, long-range communication. In addition, we will also create a Wi-Fi connected gateway, which will aggregate the packets coming from the various sensor nodes. Through rapid prototyping methodologies, we will leverage open source hardware and software tools from the TI LaunchPad development ecosystem. Once our sub-GHz RF sensor nodes are funneling data to the cloud through our Sub-GHz RF-to-Wi-Fi gateway, we will switch our attention to the cloud. Using intuitive cloud-side tools, we’ll be able to make cloud-hosted dashboards, trigger events through web channels like twitter/facebook & more.
