What advantage does a BDF give over simply providing users a set of TCL scripts to rebuild a Vivado Block Design?

I just received a copy of the book "A Hands-On Guide to Designing Embedded Systems", Adam Taylor, Dan Binnun, Saket Srivastava. It's great, just what I was looking for, a book that explains why things are done. It is very easy to read, full of good practices and advice, and lots of references to other documents. Thanks for the recommendation!

Referencing slide #35, here's a hint for filenames/paths when using Vivado Tcl (or plain-vanilla tclsh) on Windows platforms. Surround the complete filename with curly braces and the backslash path separators don't need to be changed to forward slashes. This example uses the full native Windows filename without changes, to get the file size.

file size {C:\Xilinx\Vivado\2021.2\data\boards\board_interface_preferences.xml}

Too often I fat-finger the path when changing it.

Surrounding with curly braces allows a straight copy of a path from Windows Explorer, which is very handy when changing directories in the Tcl console.
