Questions

The TDC7200 looks very interesting for my volume measurement application. Is there a list of compatible laser transmitters and recievers?

Not at this time. We're working on some that will show up on our E2E http://e2e.ti.com/support/sensor/ultrasonic site soon.

Please imagine a copper water pipe with a copper backflow valve... If you'd like to detect that this valves leakage (small amounts of water leaking back) is the system sensitive enough to detect this? The goal is to prevent installing a pressure sensor.

I can 't tell unless you can convert that into a l/h number over a temperture range.

Is there a list of transducers used for level measuring (from bottom measurements)?

Could you detect the introduction of a gas into clear air?

Depends on gases, temperature range of operation and how big your sensor distance is?
