Molex is interested in doing a webinar or panel discussion around ADAS on the element14 community and is interested in what topics are members would be interested in. Feel free to suggest topics you are interested in on the comments below and vote in our poll. Molex is interested in what topics our members are interested in. If you're not familiar with what Molex has to offer around ADAS the following link would be a good place to start.

Here's a breakdown of Molex ADAS offerings which I suggest you check out in their overview of automated driving.

Topic 2: Making Room for Rugged, Reliable Connected Applications
Vehicles are no longer just vehicles — they’re mobile data centers running a slew of customized apps. By 2030, electronics are expected to make up 50% of the cost of a new car, up from 35% in 2010. One problem that automakers are having is that they are running out of room to install more connections. That means they must pick and choose which popular features to include, inevitably disappointing some customers. They must also ensure the reliability of sensitive electronic equipment in harsh interior and exterior environments. The more software and hardware connections a vehicle contains, the greater the chance for problems. Recent innovations in electronics are helping manufacturers solve these complex problems and pave the way for more sophisticated automation in the future.

Topic 3: Exploring the Concept of Rugged Miniaturised Connectors
Life on the road for a vehicle isn’t easy, and few applications expose electronic systems and their components to a wider range of environmental considerations than transportation. From internal engine vibrations and battery heat to extreme factors like ice, sand and rain, transportation applications are the ultimate test of connector reliability. But as the industry increasingly demands more feature-heavy and more efficient vehicles, trucks, bikes and other means of transport, design engineers must also simultaneously design for higher electronic densities, smaller space considerations and reduced weights.

All of the Versal topics looks interesting. I would specifically like to know the trade-offs between performance, flexibility and price between Versal and a K26 module or a high end Zynq Ultrascale series. Some details about which applications can exploit Versal device the most and what incentives a developer gets from transitioning to Versal from K26 or ZU+ device could also be useful.

We are planning a webinar with Adam Taylor for those of you are familiar with him from his MicroZed Chronicles and posts on Hackster amongst other places. In the past we've done an exciting PYNQ workshop with Adam, and we're excited to get him back on the community for a webinar on Versal. Versal is a highly versatile and innovative platform developed by AMD, that integrates various processing elements such as CPUs, GPUs, FPGAs, and AI engines onto a single chip. It offers advanced capabilities for accelerating artificial intelligence, machine learning, networking, and data center applications, providing flexibility, performance, and energy efficiency.

I suspect not many people have any experience with Versal, so it would be great if a webinar covered the basics before going into anything more detailed. I'm planning to attend this webinar because I'm sure it'll be interesting - even though I'm unlikely to be using Versal in the foreseeable future.

Can I also add that Adam Taylor is a huge asset to world of FPGAs. I remember a while ago as an FPGA newbie I was struggling with a challenge here on E14. I dropped Adam an email and he went out of his way to set up a video call on a weekend to help me out.

I'm interested in machine learning models to predict credit card fraud. In general in the detection of anomalous patterns in time series of financial transactions. I know it's a niche application, but any Versal application for models to process time series for forecast predictions or anomaly detection would be good for me.

But I expect that it is a much more controlled environment than your typical roadway. No baguettes on the line to worry about.
