Can you suggest code using gpiozero, a Pi 3 and the Ping sensor and or maybe two Pings?

Wonderful post! I lightly modified your code to talk to a node.js server so that the distance measurements can be broadcast wirelessly to connected devices, and blogged about it here. You're credited in the blog and in the code.

Sorry to bring up an old post. I just tried this code today and it works great for few seconds then I get this error

Traceback (most recent call last):

File "PING_R.py", line 46, in <module>

distance = ReadDistance(11)

File "PING_R.py", line 39, in ReadDistance

duration=endtime-starttime

UnboundLocalError: local variable 'starttime' referenced before assignment

Did anyone experience this and any suggestions on how to fix it?

Wow. Nice!! This is a really inspired project!!! I have a few similar modules laying idle, and will try this project - I've not used Python, so I will use your code : )

I see you've got all bases/age groups covered with the metric and imperial reporting : )
