In the blog I said it was not yet possible to control the camera using Scratch GPIO.

This was actually not correct (the fix had been applied 2 days earlier but I was not aware at the time). The extra functionality was added to Scratch GPIO 6 and is now also integrated into the current version Scratch GPIO 7.

Now that this is supported fully I intend to look at the Home Education project and create a 'MAKE' style resource to go with the scheme of work I created for the KS3 students.

OK back on to the project now.

Setting up some experiments with the Home Educated children to see which crystals grow best and how long the crystals take to grow to see which will be best for our experiment. We will also be running some experiments with a Pi NOIR camera module (I don't have a normal one) to see how different time intervals work for showing the formation using time lapse.

Will blog about the results when we are done in the next day or two.

School starts again Monday so I will be looking to get the experiments set up with them as well over the next week or so.

This looks like a great project. There is a section on the Raspberry Pi website that may provide some advice and inspiration, you can find it here: time lapse | Raspberry Pi.
