Pro Edge AI/ML: Vision and Speech Kit is quite interesting for the Smart Home Edge AI Applications (since all the data will be with the local system so no worries about lack of privacy)....it will be good for a roadtest!

Nice units, but pricey.

Still, the Arduino family is easy to program and build up into quick projects, so I believe they have a valid place in every development group.

Im torn between the Arduino Pro Industrial Automation and Lighting Kit and the Pro Smart Industry Prototyping Kit.

Quite stunned that the commercial product contains that arduino board, if those photos really are of the production device. It does seem to be production hardware, since that manufacturers website has similar photos. I just don't see what it brings to the table, when the more reliable option could well be a microcontroller chip soldered directly to the custom PCB. I thought the point of Arduino was to use it for prototypes and then move to your own hardware implementation.

Regarding the kits, even for businesses, that's going to become excessively pricey real quick. What if two or three sets of hardware are needed, and more than one of those kits, since it's rare that the customer requirement will always fit one kit as conceived by Arduino. At $500 a kit, that's become a $2-3k expense before any hardware prototyping can commence. I think it's more likely people would buy the individual items rather than the kits; and they might also use Adafruit, MikroE, etc., boards too.

I like the functionality but these are far beyond my hobby budget, which of course is not their target market.

At work we sometimes use eval modules to get a head start on software development, however programming is not specifically what I do at work.

The things I have learned from hobby activities have often influenced what happens at work. My hobby objectives are not usually to subsidize corporate development investments, although sometimes I do a hobby project partly to learn things that might be useful at work..
