The article argues employers have become too picky, wanting employees who are inexpensive and c...</description><dc:language>en-US</dc:language><generator>Telligent Community 12</generator><item><title>RE: Why Good Jobs / Employees Can Seem Hard to Find</title><link>https://community.element14.com/learn/publications/b/blog/posts/why-good-jobs-employees-can-seem-hard-to-find</link><pubDate>Mon, 02 Jul 2012 19:59:13 GMT</pubDate><guid isPermaLink="false">93d5dcb4-84c2-446f-b2cb-99731719e767:c1a4e4e1-a754-4634-b407-a3427b868d6a</guid><dc:creator>DAB</dc:creator><slash:comments>1</slash:comments><description>&lt;p&gt;In some cases, companies harm their hiring ability by the way they have treated their employees in times past.&amp;nbsp; I have seen companies that treated their employees badly always had a hard time finding good talented engineers.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Companies that had a reputation as being a good place to work always had their pick of the top talent.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Based upon my experience, I look at some of these issues with a more critical eye than before.&amp;nbsp; It is just not an issue of finding talent, it comes down to an issue of are you a worthy employer for those with talent?&amp;nbsp; There is a critical difference and some companies need to come to the realization that they cannot just be body shops.&amp;nbsp; Good people need challenging projects, a good working environment and fair treatment.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Companies that provide those basic services seldom have trouble hiring.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Just a thought,&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;DAB&lt;/p&gt;&lt;img src="https://community.element14.com/aggbug?PostID=13669&amp;AppID=45&amp;AppType=Weblog&amp;ContentType=0" width="1" height="1"&gt;</description></item></channel></rss>
