Their FAQ says OUYA is expected to be available in March 2013.

Commercial consoles, such as Sony PS3 and Microsoft Xbo360, are not immune to people hacking into them and modding the internals - so what's the really big news here? Open Source Environment wouldn't be anything new under the sun. Sorry, I fail to appreciate this, the few games I play already suffer from modders and cheaters enough, an open system would be far worse. I vote for fair sport and equal opportunities.

PS. If this helps in making gaming more accessible to disabled people, then it could actually do something good, otherwise I suspect it's just another money making scam.

Interesting, but it does not look like it solves any of the current problems for those of us disabled.

I can appreciate a universal gaming controller, but they are aimed at people with full dexterity, which leaves a bunch of us out of the games.
