&lt;p style="margin:0;"&gt;Tower Semiconductor has been selected by 3PEAKIC Microelectronics to manufacture energy-saving LED driver ICs for backlight panels at its plant in Israel.&lt;span&gt;&lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;The process includes 20v-60v scalable Rdson NLDMOS/PLDMOS devices as well as advanced 0.18-micron CMOS and bipolar NPN devices.&lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;Dr Zhixu Zhou, president of 3PEAKIC Microelectronics, said Tower was chosen as it offers excellent process technology and customer support.&lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;&amp;quot;We found Tower&amp;#39;s power management process to be ideal for LED driver ICs as it includes an industry first scalable Rdson versus breakdown voltage design kit technology to reduce on-resistance and size of power cells,&amp;quot; he commented.&lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;Used in mobile phones, personal navigation devices and other handheld applications, LEDs present several benefits over traditional lighting sources including a longer lifetime, lower power consumption and a smaller size.&lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;Tower Semiconductor recently launched a new internship program to high school students in Israel, designed to increase the diversity of its employee base.&lt;a href="http://feeds.directnews.co.uk/feedtrack/justcopyright.gif?feedid=1785&amp;amp;itemid=19261620"&gt;&lt;img alt="ADNFCR-1785-ID-19261620-ADNFCR" src="http://feeds.directnews.co.uk/feedtrack/justcopyright.gif?feedid=1785&amp;amp;itemid=19261620" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div style="clear:both;"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
